St. Patrick's Day 2011

Here's a few pictures of St. Patrick's Day and the kiddos wearing their green. The trio were excited that Anne, George and Gus came over for the morning to play. It was just another laid back day- we played some Irish tunes, ate Irish Stew and enjoyed a Lucky Mint Pie for dessert.

JP stopped to look at some clovers in the grass on our walk home from the bus and found a ladybug.  How lucky!  He said he kept his hat on all day at school and that people kept pinching him to see if he was really "pinch proof"!

And then there's Ryan, as usual with his cars close by.  But don't ask to him to share-right George?  We're still working on that one!

On Wednesday, JP told me he was making a Leprechaun Trap.  I didn't really think much of it when I saw him carry a cardboard box to his room.  I thought he was just going to prop it up with a stick.  On Thursday morning I walked in his room and saw what he had done.  There was the box with his camera, some coins & some "gold money" he made out of paper. The box said: I am Joe. dear lepercon Can you take a picture of your self and give me some gold. You can take fake gold and money.  He was really was hoping to get some gold from a little guy! 

 On St. Patrick's Day night I snuck into "The boy's" room and took out the box.  I took Raisinets and spelled out "NO GOLD" across the bottom of the box & took his paper coins and money.  I had printed out a picture of a man dressed up like a leprechaun holding out a bucket of gold.  I put the printout in a shadow and took a picture of it with his camera, so it looked like a leprechaun in the dark.  When he woke up today, he ran downstairs and was so excited.  He said "Mom, a leprechaun came and didn't leave me any gold, but left some candies!"  He thought the picture was so cool too.  I know I'm only playing more into his imagination, but its so much fun!  If I can ever figure out how to get photos off of his camera I'll have to add them!

We Now Have "The Boy's Room" & "The Girl's Room"

Today was a big day for our family. We seperated the trio. It was a little sad to think these guys have been in the same room since the womb :), but we know big kid beds are our next big purchase and we need to spread everyone out.

Since we only have 3 bedrooms, we have to pair up the boys. Poor JP, he's had his own space for the past 7.5 years and now has to share. I know he's not especially thrilled to have his little brother sleeping with him, but luckily he hasn't complained much.  I think in time he may actually like having a roommate- we'll see.  Luckily, JP is heavy sleeper and hasn't been awaken by Ryan's 4:30am parties in his crib where he sings ands plays for an hour before falling back asleep. 

Ryan misses the girls and does ask on occasion to "go back to Caiti & Maddi's room".  We have a Jack & Jill bath between the two rooms, so I do pull up both Caitin & Ryan's cribs and open the doors so they can still see each other and chat before they fall asleep.  It's just another one of those transitions that is hard at the time but will hopefully seem like it was always meant to be this way in a few months.

An Early St. Patrick's Celebration

When Nana & Pa came out to meet Baby Gus last week, we decided to have an early St Patrick's Day celebration complete with corned beef & cabbage.  Aunt Erin had just sent the trio and George some shirts so everyone dressed for the occasion!
