BT (before triplets) we would take a Father's Day hike with JP. This year is the first time we attempted a hike as a family of 6! We set out for a really kid friendly trail in Boulder, but somehow couldn't find it. We saw another close by, not knowing how hard it would be. It ended up being good for everyone with the exception of some steeper declines that we had to make sure no one fell going down. The trio, especially the girls, did great. I had to carry Ryan at times, but I do agree it was harder for him because his tennis shoes really did not have great tread at all. Along the way we came across creeks, bridges, flowers, and even a deer eating some leaves for lunch! The kids loved seeing all the dogs people were walking on the path too. I'm so excited that we can now add this to our list of family things to do!
After the hike we found a restaurant and enjoyed a nice lunch on the patio. It worked out perfectly, because just as we were leaving afternoon clouds rolled in bringing some raindrops. Back home, I snapped our annual Father's Day picture and then Dad opened a few presents. It was a really nice day and I hope our Dad had fun! Happy Father's Day to Joe, Pa, Grandpop and all the other great Dad's out there!!
