Happy Easter!

It's been a beautiful morning and I'm hoping to get caught up on some posting while my little ones are napping.  Some of us started out the day earlier than others.  JP woke up at 3:45am and snuck downstairs to take a look.  I guess after he got a sneak peek of his basket he went back upstairs and woke us up at 7:15.   That would have been a great time to get up if both Madison & Ryan did not cry out last night waking Joe & I up twice throughout the night.  I think our entire house may be napping before the day is over!

After we checked out the baskets, JP and I headed out for 8am mass.  Sitting in church, I definitely think it was a good choice not to attempt to bring the triplets...maybe next year.  A quick egg hunt followed mass and then we headed home to try and find all the eggs the Easter Bunny had hidden in our own backyard.  JP had a blast, especially since the trio were happy after they each found one egg and he had free range of the whole backyard.  He quickly sorted out the coins from the candy (jelly beans & robins eggs) and counted his new riches.  The triplets still don't fully understand yet, but are having fun playing with the bunny ears in their baskets and think the jelly beans are pretty wonderful!

We are planning on taking it easy the rest of the day and enjoying a ham dinner this afternoon.  It's such a great day I'm sure some of it will be spent outside.  We hope all our friends and families have a great day too!  Happy Easter!!

The bunny came!

Caiti was more interested in opening & eating the eggs rather than looking for them:

How did that Bunny get the egg up there?!

JP & I colored eggs last night. We had planned to do it during the day with the triplets, but after we got everything all set up, we realized we didn't have any vinegar.  So instead the kids just ate some of the hard boiled eggs.  JP couldn't get them peeled fast enough- they loved them.  We called Daddy who was running errands and asked him to bring home some vinegar & more eggs!!

Are they done yet?

Easter Festivities & Aunt Kat comes to Visit

JP has been on Spring Break this past week and I think he's had a great time with all of our Easter fun & Aunt Kathryn coming to visit from Boston.  We started last weekend with my local Triplet Group's Easter Party & Egg scramble.  It had to be held inside because it was a little cold, but the kids all had fun.  We first had snacks and then scramble.  The trio just kept running around the gym and were excited to see the other kids.  Even though JP was one of the oldest there, he still had a great time scooping up eggs & seeing what was inside.

On Saturday, Aunt Kathryn came and cousin Eloise also stayed with us for the night.  Joe & I were able to go out and have a nice dinner together and JP got to brush up on his chess skills.  He's a pretty good little player!  On Sunday, we had a great afternoon when Caroline, Paul & Willa joined us too.  During the week, we went to the park, decorated our tree out front with eggs, JP, Daddy and Aunt Kat hiked Flagstaff in Boulder, Nonnie brought lots of Easter treats and lucky Mommy even got to go have a massage & dinner with Aunt Kat!

Yesterday, we headed over to the neighborhood's Easter Egg Scramble.  There were 100's of kids there.  I guess they put out 8000 eggs!  They had it divided into age groups & we decided to just let JP scramble instead of the trio.  They didn't realize what was going on and I did not want to leave JP.  It would have been too hard to keep an eye on Ryan, Caitlin & Madison with all the kids.  As it was, there was a false start of sorts & JP was only able to get 5 eggs.  He was pretty dissappointed.  A little girl came over and gave him 2 of her eggs, so that made him feel much better.  After the frenzy was over, we let Ryan, Caitlin & Madison run around on the field.  They loved it.  I have to say, I understand why people with triplets use the harnesses.  Ryan's main goal was to run as far away from us as possible.  It can be a little scary when one gets out of your sight for even a few seconds.  After they all got some energy out, we headed over to Einstein's to have some lunch.  It's so great to be able to get out again with everyone.  Welcome Spring!!

Here's lots & lots of pictures!
