At the beginning of June we went in for the trio's 2 year well-child care checkup. The only bad thing about it was it was at 1:00 pm, right in the middle of nap time. R,C,& M only were able to sleep for about an hour when they were woken up, driven to the pediatricians office and expected to get naked to be all measured up. And No One was happy about it! They all had pretty high blood pressure readings due to the screaming and crying that was taking place while they were being taken. :) When the doctor came in he asked if they could have some lollipops to make them happier. Yep, that did the trick. Lucky they are sugar-free because Ryan needed two!
Ryan:

Ryan is still a charmer, but quite the little troublemaker too. We say that he usually enters a room looking for trouble and ways he can get into it. He will just walk around the counters in our kitchen and reach up to see if he can grab anything. He is all boy and loves to play with cars, look up in the sky for airplanes and helicopters and torment his sisters for fun.
When he speaks, sometimes I have to try and figure out what he is saying, but he is starting to put 3 or 4 words together. He also amazes us that he can recognize written numbers up to 6. The doctor commented on how that is unusual and funny how the girls have been exposed to the same things he has and cannot do it. He along with the girls can recognize and say colors and is starting to learn shapes.
Ryan finally has hair! It is much blonder than any of the other kids and it looks like the curly hair gene might have passed him by. Except for a bad case of eczema he is doing great and right on track developmentally.

Caitlin is such the little Mommy. We joke that Joe and I can go out for an evening and just leave her in charge. She likes to follow the rules (most of the time) and to let other people know if they aren't. When Grandmom and Pop stayed with us the called her the Binky police. She makes sure no one leaves the bedroom with a binky (they're only for cribs now). She has started becoming quite good at putting on and taking off clothes and shoes. It hasn't quite started yet, but I see many days in my future when I have to tell her to stop changing her clothing. Along with Caitlin comes her drama too. Most of the time she is sent to time out it is for the whining. She is so smart that she knows just how to get a rise out of us! Good thing she's so cute too!
Developmentally she's right on track too. She is also starting to put several words together at a time and knows her colors. She is also a pretty good little climber and loves to go down slides.
Madison:

We still call her Pepper everyday and she is still a little pint of energy. Joe says she is going to be a track star someday. She seems to be the most adventurous also. She tries to touch spiders and loves running and getting wet and dirty.
Her biggest issue is her hair twirling. The doctor says that I should just grin and bear it until she finds something else to focus her attention on. I guess if that's the biggest thing I need to worry about I really shouldn't complain! Other than that, she is doing great too. She talks as much as the other two and knows her colors too. She loves going to gym class and dancing around to the songs.
We are looking into one other issue from the appointment. Both of the girls toes on one foot in particular are curled, obviously an identical thing. Its mainly 2 toes and the doctor was going to call a specialist to see if anything should be done. I need to follow up to see. He said in the past they probably wouldn't have done anything, but these days it may be different. We'll see. Other than that these guys are all such little miracles and am so thankful everyday that they have not had to deal with issues that many preemies and multiples have to go through. Even as we hit the terrible 2's and everyday they present me with new challenges (to say it nicely) I feel so blessed they are mine.
