On Friday, JP went in for surgery to get tubes put in his ears for the second time and also his adenoids removed. He was such a trooper and by the end of the day he seemed pretty much back to his normal self. Hopefully he will be able to hear much better now. The doctor said there was still a lot of fluid in his ears. We had to be at the hospital at 6am, so Grandmom and Pop took the "early shift" with the babies. They said they didn't even notice we were gone!
Right before JP went into surgery the Anesthesiologist came and talked to us and said to JP, "Joe, how old are you?" JP "Six." Then he said "And how many fingers is that?", obviously wanting him to hold up his hands. Instead JP just looked straight at him and said "Six." He also made us laugh when shortly after he woke up from being under and he looked at me and said, "Mom, do you think I'm on the nice list or the naughty list?" He was playing in the kids play area right before surgery and there was a Dora cartoon on where Swiper is trying to get off the naughty list, so I think it was fresh on him mind right before he went under! :)
We also got our Christmas Tree this weekend. We waited until a little later this year as we know there will have to be a gate around it most of the time. In fact, most decorations have been in moderation this year. In a few years we will be back to full-fledged decorating, but for now we will keep it sparser & safer. :)
On Sunday we were able to go watch Eloise in her play "Alice In Wonderland". Carolyn & Paul watched the babies so Joe, JP and I could go with Grandmom and Pop. Eloise did a great job and I think JP wants to now be an actor after seeing his cousin up on stage! Afterwards, we all came back to our house and had an early Christmas celebration. It was such a nice visit and fun to be able to open our gifts together.
They headed back to Massachusetts yesterday and I think all 4 of the kids are still recovering from the excitement. What a great way to start the holidays!

I'm so glad JP's surgery went so well, he is such a brave boy! The trio are looking so much older now!
